Scholarship Criteria
An award in an amount not to exceed Five
Hundred Dollars ($500.00) will be made to qualified individuals.
Purpose: To promote recognition of KEMTIA
in the EMS community.
CRITERIA
- Applicant must have a current Kentucky EMT-First Responder
certification minimum.
- Applicant must show intent to apply to a
State-approved EMT course, paramedic program, nursing program, or other
secondary medical-related program (i.e., PA, LPN, medical technologist, etc.)
- Applicant must complete an application and
submit a single page, typewritten essay explaining why he/she desires to
further his/her education.
- Applicant must submit at least two (2)
letters of recommendation from an EMT First-Responder or Basic Instructor, EMS Director, Fire Chief or
other EMS personnel.
- Applications must be submitted prior to June
1 and December 1 of each year to the KEMTIA Professional Affairs Chairperson.
- Applications will be screened and a
candidate selected by the KEMTIA Professional Affairs Committee.
- Scholarship award checks shall be made
payable to an educational facility or program in the name of the scholarship
winner.
- In the event that the selected candidate
does not complete the designated program, any reimbursable monies will be
returned to KEMTIA.
